TEHRAN - Dr. Ahmad Tavakkoli, one of the nominees of eighth presidential elections, said that the government should not have been so strict at the early days of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

He also said that some harsh disciplines are now enforced in the country that is not in the Islamic rules, adding that in order to call the young generation to Islam, we should deal with them calmly.

He also said that people's affinity and loyalty for their nation and country is disappearing little by little and this very point is a threat for Iran's national integrity.

Tavakkoli made these remarks when a group of young men had objected to him for wearing a shirt with short sleeves.
